Did you hear about the latest rule changes in IPL? The Indian Premier League (IPL) has changed the rules for the temporary players for the remaining IPL season. These rules are applicable from May 14, 2025, to June 3, 2025. In this blog, we will see the Indian Premier League Updates.
The reason for changing the rules has become important because this season is already late due to the India-Pakistan conflict; this season is 1 week late from when it was first decided.
New regulation of IPL Authorities
- IPL authorities told all teams that if some foreign players can’t join because of national duties, personal reasons, injuries, or illness, teams can bring in Temporary Replacement Players until the tournament ends.
- Before the season began, the rulebook said teams couldn’t sign temporary players after they started their 12th league match. However, because the tournament was suddenly paused for a week, the IPL has changed this rule
- From now on, any Temporary Replacement players picked will not be allowed to stay with the team next year. They must enter the IPL Player Auction in 2026 if they want to play again.

Conditions of IPL Teams: Which team will get benefits?
Many teams, like Gujarat Titans, RCB, MI, and DC, are performing well and continuously managing wins. Most of the RCB team’s players were injured before the suspension; RCB team should get the benefits of it for recovery in this time, where this team is also affected by its foreign players because most of them leave the country because of the India-Pakistan conflict.
